Chaka (* 23. März 1953 in Great Lakes, Illinois, USA) ist der Künstlername der US-amerikanischen Sängerin Yvette Marie Stevens. Vermutlich geht die Wahl des Namens Chaka auf die historische Figur des Shaka Zulu zurück. Sie war verheiratet mit dem Bassisten Hassan Khan und wird daher auch Chaka Khan genannt.

Khan begann ihre musikalische Karriere als Sängerin der Funkband Rufus Mitte der 1970er Jahre und konnte mit der Hilfe Stevie Wonders und dem Titel Tell Me Something Good 1974 in den Pop- und Funk -Charts Fuß fassen. Read more on Last.fm
