The Smiths waren eine britische Indie-Rock Band der 80er Jahre. Sie wurde 1982 in Manchester, UK vom Gitarristen/Songwriter Johnny Marr und Sänger/Songwriter Morrissey gegründet. Nach dem Weggang von Marr löste sich die Gruppe im September 1987 auf.
