The Slits waren eine britische Punkband der ersten Stunde.

Geschichte

Am 22. Oktober 1976 trafen sich die 17jährige Schlagzeugerin Paloma Romero (damals Freundin des The Clash-Sängers Joe Strummer) und die 14jährige Arianne Forster (die Tochter von Johnny Rottens späterer Ehefrau) auf einem Patti Smith-Konzert in London und beschlossen zusammen eine Frauen-Punkband zu gründen. Arianne wurde zu "Ari Up", Paloma zu "Palmolive", und mit Kate Korris (Gitarre) und Suzy Gutzy (Bass) begannen The Slits mit den Proben. Read more on Last.fm
