Patrick Bruce Metheny (* 12. August 1954 in Lee's Summit/Kansas City, Missouri) ist ein US-amerikanischer Jazzgitarrist und Namensgeber der Pat Metheny Group.

Metheny begann bereits mit acht Jahren, Trompete zu spielen. Erst mit zwölf wechselte er an die Gitarre. Mit 15 spielte er bereits mit den Jazz-Größen von Kansas City. Mit 18 wurde er Dozent für Gitarrenspiel an der University of Miami, ein Jahr später am Berklee College of Music in Boston. Read more on Last.fm
