Fruit Bats ist eine Amerikanische Folk-Rock-Band aus Seattle (ursprünglich Chicago).

Fruit Bats wurde 1999 von Gitarrist, Pianist und Sänger Eric Johnson, Songwriter und einzigem konstanten Mitglied der Band, gegründet.
Ursprünglich war Fruit Bats ein Nebenprojekt der Band I Rowboat, welches von Eric Johnson, Gitarrist Dan Strack und Schlagzeuger Brian Belval, ins Leben gerufen wurde.
