Willie Nelson (* 30. April 1933 in Abbott, Texas) ist ein Country-Sänger und Songwriter, eine bedeutende Persönlichkeit der Outlaw-Bewegung und des Genres im Allgemeinen.


Aus ärmlichen Verhältnissen stammend, wuchs Willie bei seinen Großeltern auf. Mit sechs Jahren bekam er eine Gitarre geschenkt, mit zehn Jahren trat er erstmals öffentlich auf. Als Teenager spielte Willie abends in lokalen Honky Tonks. 1950 wurde er zur Air Force eingezogen, aber bald darauf wegen Rückenproblemen entlassen. Read more on Last.fm
