Als sich Cage The Elephant im Jahr 2007 nach ihrem Auftritt beim SXSW-Festival in Texas von ihrer Heimat verabschieden, um im vermeintlich lechzenden London den Sprung ins Big-Business zu schaffen, trauen sie auf der Insel angekommen ihren Augen nicht: "Es war niemand da. Kein Empfang, kein Hotel, keine Fans. Die ersten sechs Monate in London spielten wir jeden Abend vor zwei Leuten. Das war schon ziemlich frustrierend", erinnert sich Sänger Matt Shultz.
