Saxon ist eine 1979 in Barnsley (Yorkshire, England) gegründete Heavy-Metal-Band. Als Vorreiter der New Wave of British Heavy Metal hatte sie Anfang der 1980er Jahre eine kurze Phase mit Top-40-Platzierungen in den britischen Charts und auch Erfolg im restlichen Europa und in Japan. Saxon entstand 1976 in South Yorkshire unter dem Namen Son of a Bitch. Die Gründungsmitglieder waren Peter „Biff“ Byford (Gesang), Paul Quinn, Graham Oliver (beide Gitarre), Steve Dawson (Bass) und Pete Gill (Schlagzeug). Read more on Last.fm
