Return to Forever ist eine US-amerikanische Formation des Fusion (auch Jazz-Rock genannt), die in den 1970er Jahren (1971 bis 1977) große Erfolge feierte und sich 2008 wiedervereinigt hat.

Die Band verbindet Jazz mit Rock, Soul, Funk und Latin-Elementen. Deshalb war sie in den 70er Jahren neben anderen Gruppen die logische Fortentwicklung des modernen Jazz, die Miles Davis in den späten 60er Jahren angestoßen hatte.
