Die Black Angels sind eine psychedelische Rockband aus Austin, Texas. Ihr Name stammt von dem Velvet Underground Lied „The Black Angel's Death Song“. Aber auch das Zitat „Illness, insanity, and death are the black angels that kept watch over my cradle and accompanied me all my life" von Edvard Munch, welches von der Band auf dem Album „Passover“ zitiert wird, könnte einen Einfluss gehabt haben.
