Gotthard ist eine Schweizer Hard Rock-Band aus Lugano im Kanton Tessin. Jedes Studioalbum erreichte nach dem Debüt Platz 1 der Schweizer Charts. Ihre Bekanntheit ist aber weitestgehend auf die Schweiz beschränkt geblieben. Gotthard wurden zu Beginn des Jahres 1991 im Tessin unter dem Namen Krak ins Leben gerufen. Nachdem sich der ehemalige Krokus-Bassist und Mentor Chris von Rohr der Band als Produzent und Co-Songwriter annahm, benannten sie sich in Gotthard um und unterschrieben einen Plattenvertrag bei BMG.
