Wolfgang Haffner wurde 1965 in Wunsiedel/Germany geboren. Im Alter von 6 Jahren begann er Klavier und Schlagzeug zu spielen. 1984 holte ihn Albert Mangelsdorff in das „Deutsch Französische Jazzensemble“, erste Auftritte waren die Jazzfestivals in Paris und Berlin. 1989 – 2000 war Haffner der Schlagzeuger bei Klaus Doldingers „Passport“, und tourte in Europa und Südafrika. 1994 & 1995 spielte er in der Band von Chaka Khan.
