Elvis Costello (* 25. August 1954 in London; eigentlich Declan Patrick Aloysius MacManus) ist ein englischer Musiker.

Anfänge

Costello ist der Sohn von Ross MacManus, der in den 1950er und 1960er Jahren ein erfolgreicher englischer Sänger und Komponist war (Patsy Girl). Elvis Costello begann seine Karriere als New-Wave-Ausgabe von Buddy Holly, erste musikalische Gehversuche machte er mit Bands wie Flip City oder den Mothertruckers. Er nannte sich zunächst DP Costello, bis er sich schließlich den Künstlernamen Elvis Costello zulegte. Read more on Last.fm
