Stephen Lawrence Winwood, genannt Steve (Stevie) Winwood (* 12. Mai 1948 in Handsworth, Birmingham, England) ist ein englischer Multi-Instrumentalist und Sänger.


Anfänge

Bereits in jungen Jahren kam Steve Winwood, unterstützt von seinen Eltern Lillian und Lawrence, mit Musik in Berührung. Sein Vater beherrschte eine Reihe von Instrumenten, darunter Klarinette, Saxophon, Mandoline, Geige und Bass, und war auch in einer Band, welche am Wochenende auf Hochzeiten und diversen Tanzveranstaltungen auftrat.
