The Wombats sind eine britische Indie-Rock-Band aus Liverpool, die 2003 von Matthew Murphy, Daniel Haggis und Tord Øverland-Knudsen gegründet wurde. Bereits 2006 veröffentlichte die Band ein Album, Girls, Boys & Marsupials, welches aber nur in Japan erschien. Mit den Singles Lost in the Post, Moving to New York und Backfire at the Disco erschienen erstmals auch Songs in Europa.
