Sodom ist eine Thrash Metal-Band aus Gelsenkirchen. Sie gehören zu den Pionieren und zugleich neben Kreator und Destruction zu den erfolgreichsten Vertretern der deutschen Metal-Szene. Ihre extreme Art zu spielen beeinflusst auch viele der heutigen Thrash-, Death- und Black-Metal-Bands. Sodom wurde 1981 von Tom Angelripper, bürgerlich Thomas Such (Bass und Gesang), Chris Witchhunter, bürgerlich Christian Dudek (Schlagzeug), und Aggressor, bürgerlich Frank Testegen (Gitarre) gegründet.
