Sie wurden 1963 in Philadelphia von dem Produzenten Richard Barrett entdeckt, der ihre erste Single Gee Baby (I'm Sorry) schrieb. 1963 verließen Linda Turner und Shirley Porter die Gruppe und wurden durch Janet Jones und Helen Scott ersetzt. 1966 schied Helen Scott aus; für sie rückte Sheila Ferguson nach.
