Carnivore war eine Thrash-Metal-Band aus Brooklyn, New York City, USA, die hauptsächlich von ihrer Gründung 1983 bis zur Auflösung 1988 aktiv war.

Geschichte:

Zwei der drei ursprünglichen Bandmitglieder, Peter Steele (zunächst als Petrus T. Steele) und Louie Beato (später auch als Louie Beateaux), hatten zuvor in der Band Fallout bis zu deren Auflösung gespielt. Gitarrist Keith Alexander (am 11. Juli 2005 aufgrund eines Fahrradunfalls verstorben) stieg nach der Veröffentlichung des ersten Albums Read more on Last.fm
