Walter Trout (eigentlich Walter Cooper Trout, * 6. März 1951 in Ocean City, New Jersey, USA) ist ein US-amerikanischer Komponist, Gitarrist und Sänger.

Trout gilt als einer der besten Gitarristen überhaupt, vielfach wird er in einem Atemzug mit Eric Clapton oder Jimi Hendrix erwähnt. Seine Musik stellt eine gelungene Synthese zwischen Blues und Rock (Bluesrock) dar.
