Gretchen Peters (* 14. November 1957 in Bronxville, New York) ist eine US-amerikanische Sängerin und Songwriterin. Sie wurde in New York geboren, wo sie ihren ersten Song mit ihrer Schwester im Alter von 5 Jahren schrieb. 1970 trennten sich ihre Eltern und Peters zog mit ihrer Mutter nach Boulder, Colorado. Dort entdeckte sie eine lebendige Musikszene und begann in örtlichen Clubs zu spielen. 1988 zog sie nach Nashville.
