David Jon Gilmour (* 6. März 1946 in Grantchester Meadows, Cambridge, Großbritannien) ist Gitarrist, Sänger, Komponist und Songwriter der britischen Rockgruppe Pink Floyd. David Gilmour wuchs als Sohn des Genetikprofessors Doug Gilmour in einer akademischen Mittelschichtfamilie auf. Als Teenager begann er mit dem Gitarrespiel in verschiedenen lokalen Cambridger Gruppen.
