war ein berühmter US-amerikanischer Countrymusiker, der zahlreiche Musiker wie zum Beispiel Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Bob Dylan und David Allan Coe beeinflusste.

Seine ersten Akkorde auf der Gitarre lernte Williams vom schwarzen Straßenmusiker Rufus "Tee Tot" Payne. Als Teenager trat er in Alabama mit der Band The Drifting Cowboys auf, nachdem seine Familie 1937 in die Stadt Montgomery gezogen war. Read more on Last.fm
