The Cure (engl. „das Heilmittel“ oder „die Kur“) ist eine englische Post-Punk-Band, die von Robert Smith (Gesang und Gitarre), Michael Dempsey (Bassgitarre) und Laurence Tolhurst (Schlagzeug) 1976 im südenglischen Crawley als Easy Cure gegründet wurde. Zur Zeit besteht die Band aus vier Mitgliedern: Robert Smith (Gesang und Gitarre), Simon Gallup (Bass), Jason Cooper (Schlagzeug und Perkussion) und Paul Porl Thompson (Gitarre).
