The Residents sind eine 1969 gegründete amerikanische Avantgarde-Band aus San Francisco, deren Markenzeichen die Anonymität der Mitglieder, die markanten Verkleidungen und die bizarre Verwendung von Fremdkompositionen ist.


Bandgeschichte

Die Gründung der Residents reicht in die späten 60er Jahre zurück. Bis 1969 hat sich dann wohl die musikalisch als auch durch gemeinsames Filmschaffen zusammenwirkende Kernzelle der Residents formiert. 1971 erfolgte der erste Auftritt Read more on Last.fm
