Hawkwind sind eine englische Rockband, die als eine der ersten Space-Rock-Gruppen bekannt ist. Seit ihrer Gründung im November 1969 hat Hawkwind viele Inkarnationen durchlaufen und viele verschiedene Stile in ihre Musik aufgenommen, darunter Hard Rock, Progressive Rock und Psychedelic Rock. Sie gelten auch als einflussreiche Proto-Punk-Band. Sänger und Gitarrist Dave Brock (*20. August 1941) gründete gemeinsam mit dem Gitarristen Mick Slattery und dem Bassisten John Harrison (1942–2012) im Jahr 1969 eine zunächst noch namenlose Band Read more on Last.fm
