Heaven 17 wurde Anfang der 1980er Jahre in Sheffield (Großbritannien) gegründet. Ihr Name stammt aus Anthony Burgess' Buch A Clockwork Orange, in welchem es eine fiktive Pop-Gruppe gleichen Namens gibt. Mitglieder waren Ian Craig Marsh und Martyn Ware nach ihrer Trennung von The Human League. Der Sänger Glenn Gregory vervollständigte die Formation.

Wie auch The Human League setzte Heaven 17 als Instrumente vornehmlich Synthesizer und Drumcomputer ein. Read more on Last.fm
