A Silver Mt. Zion ist eine kanadische Rockband aus Montréal.

Entstehung

Die Band wird im Allgemeinen dem Bereich Postrock zugeordnet und wurde 1999 von den Godspeed You! Black Emperor-Mitgliedern Efrim Menuck, Sophie Trudeau und Thierry Amar gegründet. Laut einem Interview mit VPRO Radio in den Niederlanden wollte Efrim durch dieses Projekt lernen, wie man Partituren schreibt. Diese Idee wurde jedoch schnell wieder verworfen, da Efrim klar wurde, dass er es bevorzugt, wenn Musik nicht von Regeln bestimmt wird, sondern einfach gut klingt. Read more on Last.fm
