Tarja Turunen (* 17. August 1977 in Kitee, Finnland; vollständiger Name Tarja Soile Susanna Turunen Cabuli), außerhalb ihrer Heimat auch nur als Tarja bekannt, ist eine finnische Sopranistin und Songwriterin. Zusammen mit Tuomas Holopainen und Emppu Vuorinen gründete sie 1996 die finnische Symphonic Metal-Band Nightwish, der sie bis Ende 2005 als Sängerin angehörte. Aufgrund ihrer Ausbildung als klassische Sängerin singt Turunen auch Metalstücke grundsätzlich im klassischen Stil. Read more on Last.fm
