Les Baxter, geb. am 14. März 1922, gest. am 15. Januar 1996, war ein amerikanischer Musiker und Komponist.

Baxter studierte Klavier am Konservatorium in Detroit und an Pepperdine College in Los Angeles. Anstatt eine Karriere als Konzertpianist anzustreben wechselte er jedoch als Sänger in den Bereich der Populärmusik. Im Alter von 23 Jahren wurde er Mitglied von Mel Tormes Mel-Tones.
Später war er bei Capitol Records Arrangeur und Orchesterleiter und mitverantwortlich für frühe Hits wie "Mona Lisa" von Nat King Cole. Read more on Last.fm
