Dieser Beitrag befasst sich allein mit der polnischen Metal-Band "Behemoth", welche stilistisch anfangs im Black Metal anzusiedeln war, sich aber später immer mehr dem Death Metal zuwandte.

Geschichte

Die Band wurde 1991 in Danzig durch den Sänger Adam Darski, Pseudonym Nergal, unter dem Namen Baphomet gegründet. Die Musik der Band lehnte sich zunächst an Venom, Beherit, Samael, sowie den frühen Celtic Frost und anderen damaligen Black-Metal-Bands an. Nergal änderte den Namen später in Behemoth.
