Thomas Alan Waits (* 7. Dezember 1949 in Pomona, Kalifornien) ist ein US-amerikanischer Sänger, Komponist, Schauspieler und Autor.

Kindheit:

Sein Vater hatte Vorfahren in Irland, seine Mutter in Norwegen. Beide arbeiteten als Lehrer. Als sich Waits' Eltern 1960 scheiden ließen, zog seine Mutter mit ihm und seinen beiden Schwestern nach National City (San Diego). Im Alter von 15 Jahren begann Tom Waits bei Napoleon’s Pizza in National City zu arbeiten. Read more on Last.fm
