The White Stripes waren eine Rockband aus Detroit. Sie gehörten zu den wichtigsten Vertretern des Garage Rock.

Besonderes Kennzeichen war, dass die Besetzung nur aus den zwei Mitgliedern Jack und Meg White bestand, was den minimalistischen Charakter ihrer Musik unterstrich.
