Bananarama ist eine britische Girlgroup, die von 1986 bis 1989 von dem Hitproduzenten-Trio Stock Aitken Waterman betreut wurde. Ihre ersten Hits wie "Shy Boy", "Cruel Summer" und der Ohrwurm "Robert de Niro's waiting" gehen auf das Konto des Produzententeams Steve Jolley und Tony Swain, die auch Imagination („Just an Illusion“) und Alison Moyets Erstwerk "Alf" ("All cried out", "Invisible") produziert haben.
