Christopher Anton „Chris“ Rea (* 4. März 1951 in Middlesbrough, England) ist ein britischer Sänger, Musiker, Komponist und Gitarrist italienisch-irischer Abstammung. In den 1970er Jahren spielte Rea, der zwei Brüder (Nick und Mike) und vier Schwestern (Catherine, Geraldine, Paula und Camille) hat, in der Band „Magdalene“ als Gitarrist und Sänger. 1975 gewann die Gruppe unter dem Namen „The Beautiful Losers“ einen Talentwettbewerb, ein Plattenvertrag blieb allerdings aus.
