Soft Cell war eine britische Synthie-Band, die 1979 von Marc Almond (Gesang) und David Ball (Instrumente) gegründet wurde.

Musikalische Karriere

1981 landete die Gruppe mit einer Coverversion des Gloria-Jones-Titels Tainted Love einen Welterfolg; der Titel stand auf Platz 1 der Hitparade in 17 Ländern. In ihrem Heimatland gelang es ihnen, im folgenden Jahr weitere vier Singles – Bedsitter, Say Hello, Wave Goodbye, Torch und What – in den Top-5 zu platzieren. Read more on Last.fm
