The Tangent sind eine schwedisch-britische Progressive-Rock-Supergroup, die 2002 als Nebenprojekt der Band Parallel or 90 Degrees (kurz: Po90) gegründet wurde. Bekannt wurde sie durch Auftritte auf vielen internationalen Progressive-Rock-Festivals.
Im Jahr 2009 erschien das aktuelle Album Down and Out in Paris and London.
