Metric ist eine kanadische Rockband. Sie wurde 1998 in New York City (USA) gegründet. Die Gruppenmitglieder haben im kanadischen Toronto ihren derzeitigen Hauptwohnsitz.

Die Band spielt seit der Gründung in derselben Formation. Mitglieder sind Emily Haines (Gesang), James Shaw (Gitarrist), Josh Winstead (Bass) und Joules Scott-Key (Schlagzeug).
