Gogol Bordello sind eine Band aus New York City, die 1999 gegründet wurde. Der Sound der Band wurde von der traditionellen Musik der Sinti und Roma inspiriert und verbindet diese mit Punk und Dub. Die Songs enthalten hauptsächlich englische, aber auch russische, ukrainische oder serbische Texte. Zur klassischen Punkband-Besetzung (Gesang, Drums, E-Gitarre, Bass) wurden Akkordeon und Geige hinzugefügt, des Weiteren sind für die Liveshows ein Percussionist und zwei Tänzerinnen, die ebenfalls zur Percussion beitragen, Teil der Band.
