Elastica war eine Britpop-Band aus London,Großbritannien. Mit ihrem ersten Album Elastica, welches 1995 veröffentlicht wurde, erreichte die Band Platz 1 der britischen Albumcharts.
Frontfrau Justine Frischmann schrieb die meisten Songs des Albums, sang und spielte Gitarre. Ihr damaliger Freund Damon Albarn, Sänger der Band Blur, spielte unter dem Pseudonym Dan Abnormal die passenden Keyboardsounds ein.
