Charles Camille Saint-Saëns [ʃaʀl kaˈmij sɛ̃ˈsɑ̃s] (* 9. Oktober 1835 in Paris; † 16. Dezember 1921 in Algier) war ein französischer Pianist, Organist, Musikwissenschaftler, Musikpädagoge und Komponist. Er wurde vor allem durch seine "große zoologische Fantasie" Karneval der Tiere und die Oper Samson et Dalila bekannt.
