Shawn Colvin (* 10. Januar 1956 in Vermillion/South Dakota) ist eine US-amerikanische Folk- und Popsängerin.

Shawn Colvin wuchs in Carbondale, Illinois auf und besuchte dort die Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Im Alter von 10 Jahren erlernte sie das Gitarre spielen. Ihr erstes öffentliches Konzert gab sie mit 15 Jahren am Campus der University of Illinois. Colvin nennt Joni Mitchell als primären Einfluss auf ihre Musik und ihre anfänglichen Aufführungen spiegelten recht deutlich Mitchells Gitarrenmelodien wieder. Read more on Last.fm
