Kaum eine Band steht so sehr für Frieden, Liebe und Bewusstsein erweiternde Drogen wie Jefferson Airplane. Mit Grateful Dead bildeten sie die Speerspitze der Hippie-Musik, die Mitte der 60er Jahre in San Francisco entstand. Interne Streitereien führten jedoch dazu, dass sie sich nach nur wenigen Jahren auflösten. Ihr Ruhm gründet auf eine Handvoll Hits und Auftritte bei den bekanntesten Festivals ihrer Zeit.
