Anthrax ist eine Metal-Band, die 1981 in New York von Scott Ian Rosenfeld (dem einzigen heute noch in der Band spielenden Gründungsmitglied) und Dan Lilker gegründet wurde. Anthrax ist neben Metallica, Megadeth und Slayer eine der sogenannten "Big Four" des Thrash Metal.

Zunächst noch deutlich von der New Wave of British Heavy Metal bzw. den durch diese beeinflussten Spielarten Power Metal und Speed Metal beeinflusst, war Anthrax wesentlich an der Entwicklung des Thrash Metal beteiligt. Read more on Last.fm
