Die Buzzcocks sind eine Punkband der ersten Punk-Welle und wurden 1976 in Manchester, England gegründet. Sie gelten als Wegbereiter des Pop-Punks. Durch ihren poppigen Sound gepaart mit roughen Gitarren und teilweise ironisch gebrochenen Texten über alltägliche Themen (meistens Liebe) hob sich die Band von den rohen, destruktiven Bands der restlichen britischen Punk-Bewegung ab.
