Bobby Byrd (eigentlich Bobby Day, * 15. August 1934 in South Carolina; † 12. September 2007 in Loganville) war Leader der Gospel Starlighters und langjähriger Sideman des „Funk Soul Brothers“ James Brown. Gemeinsam mit James Brown konnte er viele Hits (z.B. Sex Machine, Pt. 1 & 2) verbuchen, war aber auch mit zwei Singles unter eigenem Namen (I Need Help, 1970; I Know You Got Soul, 1971) erfolgreich.
