Ian Brown wurde am 20. Februar 1963 in Warrington geboren und ist ein britischer Pop- und Rockmusiker.

1984 gründete er zusammen mit John Squire, "Reni" und "Mani" die bahnbrechende Band "The Stone Roses". Während dieser Zeit entstanden allerdings nur 2 Alben, das selbstbetitelte Debut 1989 und 1994 das zweite Album "Second Coming". Während der Aufnahmen zum dritten Album, das nie erschien, zerstritten sich die beiden Kindergartenfreunde Brown und Squire so sehr, dass sie die Band auflösten und auch fast jeglichen Kontakt abbrachen.
