Charles Mingus (* 22. April 1922 in Nogales (US-Militärbasis), Arizona; † 5. Januar 1979 in Cuernavaca, Mexiko) war ein US-amerikanischer Jazzmusiker.

Er war Bassist und Komponist mit Wurzeln im Bebop. Zunächst spielte Mingus mit Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Lionel Hampton und anderen. Nach seiner Übersiedlung nach New York nahm er Platten als Bandleader unter eigenem Namen auf.
