Sister Sledge sind eine US-amerikanische Soul-Gesangsgruppe, bestehend aus den Schwestern Kim (*21.08.1957), Debbie (*09.07.1954) Joni (*13.09.1955) und Kathy (*06.01.1959) Sledge. Sie sind die Enkel der ehemaligen Opernsängerin Viola Williams. Sie begannen im Alter von 4 bis 8 Jahren in den lokalen Baptisten Kirchen von Philadelphia zu singen. Die Gruppe wurde Anfang der 1970er in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, gegründet. . Ihre professionelle Karriere begann im Jahre 1975 als sie die UK Charts mit dem Hit "Mama Never Told Me" eroberten.
