Ahmad Jamal (* 2. Juli 1930 in Pittsburgh als Frederick Russell Jones, Pennsylvania) ist ein afro-amerikanischer Jazz-Pianist, Komponist und Arrangeur. Er hieß Frederick "Fritz" Russell Jones, bevor er um 1952 zum Islam übertrat.

Jamal hatte Klavierunterricht, besuchte die Westinghouse High School und tritt seit seiner Jugend professionell auf.
