Sabaton ist eine Power Metal-Band, deren Mitglieder allesamt aus Schweden stammen. Sie wurde 1999 gegründet und besteht aus 6 Mitgliedern. Charakteristisch für die Band ist die tiefe, verrauchte Stimme ihres Lead-Sängers sowie basslastige Stücke. Der Name „Sabaton“ bezeichnet einen Schuh, der im Mittelalter als Teil einer Rüstung getragen wurde.
